Timing Belt Replacement
CANO AUTOMOTIVE will always include new idler and tension
pulleys, and (timing belt driven) water pumps in our Timing Belt
Replacement Service. When we service your vehicle's timing belt you
can rest assured it will not fail prematurely due to a worn out
pulley or water pump.
NOTE: If your water pump is not driven by the timing belt, it may
still be a good idea to replace it while the engine is this far
apart. In this case, we will offer it as an option.
A timing belt is what drives the camshaft's) in many vehicles on
the road today. The camshaft(s) open the engine valves. When a
timing belt breaks or slips on many engines the valves may remain
open while the piston comes up causing major engine damage. The
vehicle's manufacturer's have a recommended replacement interval for
each engine (usually 60,000, 90,000 or 105,000). Some high
performance vehicles have recommended intervals as soon as 30,000
miles. We can quickly access this information and provide a cost
estimate. Because many water pumps are mounted behind the timing
belt, we will include replacing the water pump at the same time as
an option. Some water pumps act as an idler pulley for the timing
belt and could cause it to jump if the pump fails. Many water pumps
fail at 90,000-100,000 miles anyway and there is a substantial
savings for replacing the pump while the timing belt is off.
Fuel Injection Flush
We will disable your vehicles fuel system and run our flush
solvent throughout the fuel system components. The throttle plate
and bore are cleaned by our technicians when we are flushing the
fuel system. This service not only cleans injectors and the throttle
area, but also removes deposits from the intake valves.
Protect Your Investment: MotoVac Carbon Clean
Service
Since your car was new, dirt, varnishes and carbon deposits have
been forming in your vehicle's fuel system, on the intake valves and
in the combustion areas. These contaminants can rob your vehicle of
performance, fuel economy, increase harmful emissions and could lead
to costly engine repairs if left untreated.
When you drive, do you:
- Notice a loss in acceleration or power?
- Notice your engine hesitating, idling rough or stalling?
- Get fewer miles of driving per gallon of gasoline?
- Do you worry that you may not pass your next emissions test?
When the engine is contaminated with carbon deposits, gum and
varnish, your car's ability to drive smoothly and cleanly is
compromised. Traditional tune-ups can't fix these
problems.

What You Need is a MotoVac Carbon Clean
Service The Automotive Maintenance and Repair
Association (AMRA) recommends a fuel-system cleaning once every
15,000 to 18,000 miles. Cleaning your car's fuel system is the best
way to keep it driving as it should. The MotoVac Carbon Clean
service is the most complete and effective fuel system cleaning
service.
The MotoVac system connects to your car's engine and
circulates a mixture of MotoVac solution and fuel through all fuel
system components. This cleaning solution removes carbon, gum and
varnish from your engine - from intake to exhaust.
A MotoVac Carbon Clean Fuel System Service:
- Restores "new car" performance
- Restores fuel economy
- Helps the environment by lowering your car's emissions.
After the service, the fuel system - and your engine - will
function more efficiently.

Treat your car to a MotoVac Carbon Clean
Fuel System Service - to improve performance, restore fuel
economy and lower your emissions. You'll feel the
difference.

Brake Fluid Flush
We will disable your vehicles fuel system and run our flush
solvent throughout the fuel system components. The throttle plate

I Change My Brake Fluid?
Air Conditioner Systems Service
We service both current systems equipped with r134a refrigerant
and older systems with r12 refrigerant. It is not possible to
determine the source of a refrigerant leak until the system is
filled or re-charged. Once full we add a leak detection dye. If
there is a major leak we can usually determine its source the same
day. With minor leaks it may take several days or even months for
the system to become low enough to fail. If the system fails within
1 year the leak detection dye will enable us to locate the source of
this leak.

Diagnostic Services
We retrieve stored codes, analyze live data, consult wiring
diagrams and test individual components to determine the root cause
of the problem. Along with computer scanners and ignition diagnostic
machines, the most common tool used today is a lab scope. To test an
individual component accurately, we must tap into the wiring at, or
as close to, the component, as possible, to see the actual signal
from it. We then test the signal at the computer. This signal is
often corrupted before it gets to the computer. Gaining access to
the component to test it often involves removing various brackets or
components.
The first level of diagnostic service includes reading computer
codes and data, road testing the vehicle and basic component
testing. This is all that is needed 80% of the time. If more
diagnostic work is needed the customer will be contacted and
consulted about what was found and what work is still
needed.

wrong?
Automatic Climate Control System Services
The ASE Master Certified Technicians at CANO AUTOMOTIVE can
diagnose and repair today's automatic climate control systems. This
requires intricate diagnostic ability to access and test various
components involved. After the cause of failure has been diagnosed
an accurate estimate of repairs will be offered to the
customer.

Engine Tune-up
We will replace your vehicle’s spark plugs, fuel filter, air
filter, and PCV valve. Some vehicles have platinum spark plugs,
which only require replacement every 2nd tune-up. We also recommend
ignition wires and distributor caps be replaced at least every 3rd
tune-up, or at 90,000 miles.
Please note: A tune-up is a maintenance service. Check engine
light warnings, drivability symptoms and state emission test
failures all require diagnostic time to determine the proper
remedy.

Service Why Diagnose My Car?
Engine Replacement
We often install re-manufactured engines. Along with the
replacement engine we always replace common maintenance items such
as the spark plugs, thermostat, ignition wires, engine filters,
water pump, drive belts and all engine filters to help ensure
trouble free operation. Most carry a 3-year / 75,000 mile nationwide
parts and labor guaranty.
A used engine is often a cost effective alternative when a
quality low mileage replacement is available. Used engines have much
shorter warranty periods than re-manufactured engines, and may not
cover all or any of the installation labor charges.
Front-End Alignment
We will recalibrate adjustable front-end components to bring
alignment angles back to factory specifications.
When do
I need a Front-End Alignment?
Coolant System Flush
We will flush the coolant system and replenish your vehicle's
coolant. We will also bleed the air from the coolant system and run
the vehicle long enough to ensure coolant circulation.
Complete Vehicle Inspection
We will perform a complete vehicle inspection and return to the
customer with a detailed report with recommendations on service
areas and preventative maintenance. The detailed report includes:
- Lighting and Accessories (Horn, Headlamps,
Turn Signals, Tail /Stop Lamps, Markers, Gauges / Ins., Wiper
Operation, Wind Shield Washer, Mirrors, Power Windows, Radio,

Oil Change
Includes changing your vehicle’s oil and filter and up to 5
quarts of oil. We will also lubricate the front-end if equipped with
grease fittings.
*Additional charges apply to premium
application oil filters or canister type filters, over 5 quarts of
oil and for synthetic oil.
How Often Should I Change
My Engine Oil and Oil Filter?
Tire Balancing & Rotation
We will computer spin balance your car or light truck tires and
torque them to specifications. The tires must be removed from your
vehicle and then rotated from front to back.
Why Should I
Rotate and Balance My Tires?
Transmission Fluid and Filter Change
We will either replace the transmission filter and pan gasket, or
flush and replenish the transmission fluid or both. When the pan
gasket and filter are replaced much of the fluid remains within the
transmission and does not get replaced. When the fluid is flushed
and replenished the filter and pan gasket (a common leak source) are
not replaced. We usually recommend a complete fluid replenishment as
well as the filter and pan gasket replacement.
Please
Note: Some vehicles today use synthetic fluid (most of
these are not fitted with dipsticks so the wrong fluid cannot be
added). The replacement interval on vehicles with synthetic fluid is
usually 100,000 miles.
Transmission Replacement
Replacing your car’s transmission is an expensive service. The
quality of the re-manufactured transmission is more important than
the price. A cheap job that fails is much more expensive than a
quality product. Working with a transmission re-manufacturing
facility that we have had a relationship with for many years, makes
us confident we are delivering the highest quality unit to our
customers. Warrantee is usually 12 months or 12,000 miles (which
ever comes first).
We usually recommend re-manufactured automatic transmissions and
offer used standard transmissions. Used automatic transmissions are
prone to failure while a re-manufactured standard transmission is
often not cost efficient.
